High mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1)

High mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) was originally discovered as a non-histone nuclear protein that is ubiquitously expressed in cells. Now it is known that HMGB1 is actively secreted by activated immune cells or passively released by dead cells. Intracellular role of HMGB1 is nucleosomal stabilization and transcriptional regulation. Extracellular HMGB1 acts as a pro-inflammatory cytokine and is easily detected in the serum of individuals suffering with inflammation associated disorders.  Recent studies also indicate that serum HMGB1 levels is a useful prognostic and predictive biomarker for oncolytic immunotherapy with adenoviruses. It has also been reported that increased HMGB1 levels in the serum of patients with chronic heart failure may predict fatal outcomes.

As part of your research, if you are interested in measuring the levels of HMGB1 in your precious samples, Novatein biosciences is offering a high quality, sensitive HMGB1 Elisa kit with guaranteed results.

In addition, we have a wide range (1000+) of convenient and easy to use ELISA kits from several species.
